Trains

Sam, a blogger friend, gave me some info about campgrounds nearby some train viewing areas, so I thought I would post some of my favorite train pics. I often read blogs where the writer comments on the terrible noise from a train during the night. I actually like listening to the trains while I am falling asleep.

  1. Great shots, I have been to several of the locations including the Black Hills, if you would like a copy of the last video I shot at Fort Madison it will give you an idea how many trains there are and the neat town it is, also it's close to several other Iowa towns on the Mississippi River with neat train stations.Just send me an e-mail( my e-mail is weeb@centurytel.net) with your mailing address and I will send you a DVD and a cd with some of the pictures I took, If you get out this way when the weather warms up I can also take you to the St Louis Museum of transport and some local train spots.Be safe out there Sam & Donna..

  2. Always enjoy the sound of a distant train whistle in the night. There is something romantic & reassuring about that lonesome melancholy sound & I have to say that in our travels there is nearly always a train whistle in the night wherever we stop.

  3. I don't mind a DISTANT train whistle, but I'm one of those people that doesn't appreciate trains up close and personal. :)
