Around the Neighborhood

The advantage of having a small rig,
you can park under the shade trees.

My commute to work is a 3 minute walk.  If my work day will be longer than 5 hours, I have to take a 30 minute lunch.  At lunch time I walk back to the RV to check on KitKat and have a snack.

Aramark's office building

I feel very much "at home" working in this office. It's kinda eerie, I feel like I have met some of my co-workers before, but none of them have ever lived in the Chicago area.

Laundry Room
No quarters needed, just bring your own detergent.

I walk around the campground every evening,
walking around the perimeter and then up and down the interior roads.

Large open area behind RV sites for walking and exploring.

Very small cabins for those without an RV.
There is a women's dorm inside the National Park, close to the Lodge.

There are also 3 mobile homes, two small adobe style cabins
and a cute little cabin with a nice porch on this property.

There are many places to visit and explore in this area of Colorado and the Four Corners.  I have a list of places that I want to travel to on my days off. I think I will have Fridays and Saturdays off most weeks and want to go camping at some of the BLM campsites and travel to some of the other Native American Pueblo sites and Cliff Dwellings in this area. I stopped at the Anasazi Heritage Center yesterday and picked up a lot of brochures and maps. I've also been making a list of the Farmers Markets and Festivals in this area.

  10. I came over from Carolyn's blog to comment on your quandry of driving your motorhome from Durango to Silverton. DO IT!!! Then go on to Ouray. I promise it is the most beautiful place in the world. There is a great boondock place just north of Silverton on the road to Ouray. Turn left at the sign to South Mineral campground. The main boondock area is on the left maybe a mile or so in. Beautiful--and usually lots of huge $$$$$$$$ motorhomes in there. The South Mineral campground is further down the road, 15-20 dollars, and not as pretty. Have fun!
