Sometimes life does not go as planned.

Weather, illness, mysteries, death, new life and other things can change the direction of your life. 

 I'm on an Amtrak train heading back to San Antonio and then will drive the RV to Aransas Pass to work short-term at the tax office preparing returns on extension.

Baby Sophia Marie born August 10th at 12:00 noon.

8 pounds 5 ounces. 21 3/4" long.

Baby is doing good. Diane is feeling better. She had a problem with blood pressure, but she is improving.

Grateful for a great hospital staff and a happy and healthy baby girl.

Canada Family History

My cousin came over today so I could do her tax return. She is working on a family history. Awhile back, I posted some of my grandma's travel stories and I am going to give my cousin the papers and photos I have to add to the family history. We talked about setting up a website or a blog, so other family members can join in, and we can post pictures and stories about the family.

I'm part Canadian: family name - Audette. (Odette)

Am I related to any of you out in Blogland???

I'm going to get more info, and post a blog about my family history.  It would be interesting to find someone related... through this blog.

Teri vs Family

Am I a bad person if I want to keep on going with my plans to move, if family members are having a hard time?

No one in my family knows of this blog, I figured I would tell them about it when I started posting my travel data so they could keep track of me. I talk to my daughter about everything, but I didn't tell her about the blog yet. I needed this to be for me, just me, at this time.

My dad is waiting for information about a leaky valve of his heart, my sister just texted me - her blood pressure is super high, she didn't want to go to the hospital, I told her "just go". 

I really do care about everyone, but does anyone know that I need time for myself, when my husband died (less than 16 months ago), my mother was gravely ill and died 4 months after him. I spend almost everyday with my dad, he works part time and gets out but he has health issues and he needs help to do paperwork that my mom took care of.

I don't want anyone taking care of me, I just want to go and have some time alone so that I can think and figure out what the next step in my life is. I met my husband when I was 16 and married at 18. We were married for 33 years, I need to figure out who I am, now that I am on my own.

Thankful for Family!

My niece, her boyfriend and my nephew came to help me shovel. This was a welcome surprise.

Luckily..... they have a four wheel drive truck, the street in front of my house was not plowed yet.

3 young, strong kids (late 20's not really kids) can shovel a lot faster than me.

I am so grateful that they thought about me and came by to help.

I was going to posts pics of the good job they did, but I have misplaced my camera.
I hope it didn't drop out of my pocket into the snow.

I woke up this morning to discover

that I had been adopted into

a big caring family.

I was so pleased and happy to discover all of the comments

and all of the followers.

It is a comfort to know that there are so

many friendly faces out there.

On sunny winter days we walked around the forest preserves

My daughter currently has his two digital cameras

She has taken some great pics with the Olympus

he also had a Sony, she is intimidated by it.

Maybe I'll give it a try while I'm on the road.

No time right now to learn how to use it.
