A detour before I leave.........
I need to have some work done on the house and the repairmen won't be out to my house until Tuesday. Hopefully it will only take a few hours.
And last weekend, the refrigerator in the house went on strike. On Monday, I called my neighborhood repairman and he diagnosed it as a bad switch, he put in a new switch on Tuesday.
Not a major setback, only $145 total, parts and labor. Not much food lost, luckily the fridge was pretty bare due to my pending departure.
So, hopefully, my new departure date is Thursday, November 3rd. I keep watching weather.com. All of the talk of snow, along with the cold nights, makes me nervous. I want to get away from all of the cold weather.
The movers picked up my daughters things on Tuesday and my family and friends have been here to pick up some items.
All that is in the house now is a bed, a desk and chair, a bookcase and a few lamps. There are several boxes in the garage, some items are being picked up tomorrow and the rest will be donated.
And, I still have several boxes of papers and small items that I am sorting and figuring out what to do with. The other thing I'm having a hard time deciding is "what clothes to take". I don't want to take too much, but don't want to regret leaving something behind. I know I can always pick up clothes anywhere, but its still hard deciding.
I really need to get into the RV and get it all setup and ready to travel, it gets cold here at night and takes awhile to get the chill out, I may need to turn on a small electric heater while I am working in the RV.
I have to go to Car Max and sell my car, I'm still running around getting things taken care of and need the car for a few more days.
Still counting down 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1.................
Remember that when you leave this Earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received, only what you have given, a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage. -St. Francis of Assisi
