Soon I'll be on the road again, traveling through Texas and the Midwest for the spring, summer and fall and then back to Aransas Pass next January for another tax season.
I hope to visit many of the Texas State Parks between now and January.
Purchasing an annual Texas Parks Pass will cover the daily fees and this pass also gives a few days of discounted camping.
The state parks are spread out in this large state from the Gulf Coast to the Panhandle and from the Piney Woods to the desert of Big Bend.
A few weeks ago, I took a day trip to Goose Island State Park, about 30 minutes away from where I am staying in Aransas Pass. You can park your RV or pitch a tent along the shore of the bay or in the wooded area. If you camp in the wooded area, there is a paved path that leads to the bayfront and a picnic area.

Site #12
Site #12 looks like it would fit small RV's and would be great for a tent site. It is sheltered on one side with a nice view of the bay.

Campsites average $20 a night or $120 a week, but there is a $5 a day, per person entrance fee added if you did not purchase the annual pass.
Safe travels and keep us posted now that tax season is almost over.
