Remember that when you leave this Earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received, only what you have given, a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage. -St. Francis of Assisi

Goodbye South Padre, Hello San Antonio

Sunset @ South Padre KOA 9-30-13

I love the beach, watching the waves, feeling the energy of the water and walking on the sand. I will miss the sunsets.

I am now in San Antonio......
It felt great this morning to sit outside the RV, under several shade trees, a cool breeze, listening to the birds sing and watching the squirrels running around.

So grateful, my house has wheels and I can experience all of these different places.

  3. Life is best when you can find beauty no matter where you are. And you do. Love it.

  4. If I could talk my husband into selling everything we have I would be right with you!...though I live in the most beautiful part of the Arizona desert I just have this absolute urge to say the heck with it all !! Not an impulse either...I have felt this way for a year or so....though more now as we just got this astronomical (to me) property tax bill. "They" are going to make it so we can't own anything anymore....ok....I'm done...glad you are having a nice time...you deserve it!

  5. Teri, you are living my life - or I'm living yours. I also lost my husband of 33 years 7 years ago. It has taken me until now to start living for myself. I will be beginning my journey into solo full timing in early 2014 after travels in 5ers with spouse for over 15+ years. I know it will be bittersweet at 1st but i am up to the challenge. I also want to work kamp in state & national parks (though this is not the time for that with the government shutdown). If you would check out my blog jeaniesrvtravels@blogspot.com, I would be grateful. Any input, ideas, or suggestions you may be able to give me would be helpful as I downsize my life, buy my trailer, learn this blogging thing and figure out the rest of my life. Safe travels and i just love your picture by the sea.

  11. Indeed, every place has its wonders. But . . . I am so grateful for our time at the beach this year.
