Remember that when you leave this Earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received, only what you have given, a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage. -St. Francis of Assisi

Just a few things I have read recently and wanted to save..............

Not everyone
will understand
your journey
That's fine
It's not their journey
to make sense of.
It's yours

Start where you are
Use what you have
Do what you can

Many people QUIT digging right before they are about to hit GOLD.
Don't be one of those people. When times get tough, when you start to question yourself, your life, your dreams, just KEEP GOING. This feeling of uncertainty is vital for you to experience, it is part of your necessary growth. It is a character test sent to see if you are serious about your chosen path, not an excuse to become a quitter.  Dreams don't work unless YOU do.   -Freelee

If we are not willing to confront the truth about ourselves that a loss unearths, we squander a rare and precious opportunity for transformation. Our grief, while deeply felt, runs the risk of becoming a sentimental escape from the most meaningful part of our journey.  If we do the hard work when we lose someone we love, then we find ourselves BLESSED with more love than we ever knew existed.
from "Broken Open" by Elizabeth Lesser

we must be
willing to let go
of the life we
have planned
so as to have
the life that is
waiting for us
-Joseph Campbell

  1. I really like the last one because that has sure been true in my life. Plans? What plans?

  2. I too love Joseph Campbell and that quote. Thanks for posting them all.

  3. I especially like the last two...hard but so true.

  4. Thanks for posting.... good thoughts

  5. I collect quotes too ... have 'em on stickie notes ~ Elizabeth Lesser is one. I did a post about her book ... can't remember when ... wasn't too far back... always nice to know we're not alone thinking the thoughts we think... ;)

  6. Great quotes. I can use the positive thoughts! Thanks for posting.

  7. Thanks for those. I stole and posted the first and last one on my face book page. I hope that was okay. They were really good.

  8. I have my own "sayings" that I've been collecting for years. I just put some of them on my Pinterest board, Saying and Letters. From time to time it's a good thing to re-read them. I like yours, and may adopt a few. :)
