All of todays photos were taken at this RV Park.

This is a newer RV Park, Vickie said that her husband is a Realtor and when business slowed down because of the worldwide financial crisis they had to do something  else to earn a living.  They live on a gorgeous piece of property and have opened it up to RV'ers. They do not have bath or shower rooms or laundry facilities, yet.  All the sites are gravel with grass in between sites. They have back-in and pull-thru sites. The back-in sites are closer to the woods and lakes.

I walked for a long time on an earthen dam that goes all around the lakes area until I came upon a locked gate. This is probably where the cattle and horses are. While walking I saw the cattle and horses in the water on the opposite shore. There were some donkeys and horses on the other side of the dam, but I do not know if this is a part of their property.  A telephoto lens would have been helpful to get better pictures, but I really don't want to carry around all that camera stuff.

My site backed up to a wooded area with a picnic table and fire ring, overlooking the lakes. Near the campsites, some of the lakes were shallow and some were dried up. If you walk towards the back of the property there are larger lakes for fishing. They have picnic tables, benches and swings set up all along the shore.

This is a very nice family owned park. Plus you have an RV Repairman on site, if needed. It's close to town, but there is no highway noise. There was an occasional train horn off in the distance.

I am posting this because I know how hard it is to start a business, traditional advertising is very expensive. Word of mouth advertising is what grew my business and I would like to help anyone else I can.

  2. Jacksboro Texas is a very familiar place for us because it is right on our East/West route & that is where we pick up highway 380 heading West all the way to Alamogordo New Mexico. Probably have been through Jacksboro 6 or 7 times in the last few years. Although we rarely stay in RV Parks we will mark that one in Jacksboro down because it might not be crowded in early Spring or late Fall of the year.

  3. Nice post.

I've thought a lot about you and a couple of other solo gals that I follow. Somehow I think that having a blog and sharing your thoughts and experiences with others makes it a bit less lonely. Is that true? I know you lost your husband and would probably rather b sharing all of this with him. Do you ever talk to him while driving along?

We will take you on the John Deere Gator to the top of the hill at the back of the ranch that overlooks Jack County.
