Riverfront Park Atchison, KS
Next time you look at a soldier's face, see if you can find that glint of pride. Sometimes it's hidden, and you have to search it out.
You'll find it in the eyes - always in the eyes.
For the eyes are indeed the windows of the soul.

Thanks for posting that it is really warm.
ReplyDeleteTeri, I don't have your e-mail address, and my answers to your comment questions here are going to be kind of long.
ReplyDeleteI'm not at the beach anymore so I can't take a photo, but along the coast in Carlsbad, CA they have wide parallel parking spaces next to the sidewalk. That's where I park. I get there early to make sure I get a good spot, I like to be in front or back of bus stops (or handicap spaces) so no one can block me in. But I found that people gave me enough space.
As far as the generator question, I used it a lot at the beach. My interior lights work without it, but my electric plugs need either an electric hook-up or the generator. In the morning I started it to make coffee, or if I wanted to use the toaster oven. I also had it on a lot to charge my laptop and G4 unit. Then they would last for a couple of hours on battery, but I'd have to start the generator again to re-charge them. I didn't find that it used that much gas. It was definitely worth it to me.
Since last Thursday after work, I drove about 125 miles back and forth to the beach each day, and then to work last night to park in the parking lot overnight here at my office. So I had 5 nights of free (stealth) parking and 4 days parked at the beach for free. I used less than half a tank of gas, probably around 25 gallons, including generator use and driving. Total cost $98.25. Not bad for a 4-day beach vacation! :)
