Safe & Sound

I finally made it.............

The perfect site - on the end with a view of the lake.

My deck and yard for a few days.

My camera is dating the pics -  it's the wrong date -  I will have to look into that.

I was asked if I would miss my yard and gardens. I will have a new and different "yard" every time I move to a new location.  And I don't have to do any yard work.

I am in Central Illinois for 2 nights and maybe a 3rd if it rains like weather.com is predicting.  I don't mind walking around in the rain, but I don't want to drive in the rain if I can avoid it. Staying here a few days will give me time to organize the cabinets and drawers in the coach. I don't remember where I put everything in the mad rush to empty the house.

I traveled down I-57 today, the roads were in good shape, there was not a lot of construction and traffic was light. The day was overcast, but dry. It was windy at times so I stopped often and took my time.

Thanks to Peter for the comment on yesterdays blog about the mirror.

The name "Velvac" is on the mirror, I will make some calls tomorrow. Maybe they can mail a replacement to my friends house in Arkansas - then my friends can help me install it.

  2. Horrah for you. You're finally on the road and on your way. Getting your coach weighed in Livingston is a good idea. Don't know if you're carrying a lot of stuff like I am but it couldn't hurt to know your weight.

    Happy trails

  6. Congrats on your new voyage! Didn't realize you were also from Chicago, but I so envy that you're able to fly south away from the cold and dreary days that are coming. Enjoy the views!

  7. The world can be your garden/yard. Yet when you close the curtains at night, you're always home. You're out there! ;)

  12. I just finished reading your blog and see that you left Nov 6, when months ago you wrote Nov 1 as a leave date, stating you were not ready and didn't know if you were going to be ready but needed a date to get in gear.

That is what I need right now. A departure date.

I made a list today as you suggested and it put a lot of things in perspective and just how much I have to do, but everything on the list is doable, it's just a matter of getting away from this computer and getting started.

Hmmm, so what date will I depart??? I'll have to think about that one, it will be hard because I would really like to leave right now!!! LOL

My list has 33 items on it right now, but only 24 of those are to hit the road.

I'm glad you made it and your blog is inspiring to a procrastinator like me. I guess I will not be able to use my old saying that "I do my best work under pressure". Maybe a set departure date is the "pressure" I need to get me started.
