Remember that when you leave this Earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received, only what you have given, a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage. -St. Francis of Assisi
Teri, my favorite is at Duck Haven Campground in Fort Madison Ia. it is a cheaper campground at about $12 a night, grass spots, pavillion, shower house & bathrooms, water and 30 amp electric, dump station, Nothing real fancy but it is right next to the old Santa Fe Transcon with over 100 trains a day, last year I went up there twice just to sit and relax and take pictures and video's , it's close to a macDonalds so you can get free wi-fi if you don't have a card, and near the casino, Amtrak Statiom, ( another good photo location) the downtown Old station is now a train museum and has a crosswalk bridge that is great for pictures. Don't know what part of Illinois you live in bit is is right across the river just north of Noavoo. Also for a day trip Rochelle has a nise railroad park with a pavilion, rest rooms and a shop right at the BNSF UP crossing again tons of trains. We live west of St Louis so I go to Effingham & St Elmo for shots too.E-mail me and I will forward you a picture of the campground at Fort Madison as an attachment. Be Safe out there. Sam & Donna...
